Drakelands Trout
Fishery Unfortunately this fishery has closed due to the development of Drakelands Mine
Drakelands is situated about six miles east of Plymouth
on the southern border of the Dartmoor National Park.
It is a peaceful small stillwater that is open all year.
Drakelands is strictly catch-and-release with
a good stock of brown and rainbow trout.
The lake holds some large brown trout
and enjoys a good hatch of fly.
We recommend the use of barbless
hooks
and imitative patterns such as:
- Pheasant Tail nymphs
- Gold Ribbed Hares
Ear
- soft hackled nymphs
- Sparkle Caddis
We meet anglers in the car park of the Miners Arms
in Hemerdon.
The Miners Arms is one of our favourite places to eat out.
