Getting the best from this resource

Get Internet Explorer V5

Get Windows Media Player

Get Cosmo Player plugin

  • I have designed this site to be browsed via Internet Explorer V5 at a screen resolution of 800x600 pixels with the colour palette set to 256 colours.
  • Some pages have an audio commentary to guide you through the lecture material which requires Windows Media Player
  • You will need the Cosmo Player plugin to view the VRML models on this site.
  • Please do not use this resource as a substitute for attending lectures. Despite all the hype, the Internet is not going to replace conventional lectures - at least not this semester. You can regard this resource like the programme that accompanies a theatrical event. Reading the programme is no substitute for actually seeing the actor fluff their lines! Enjoy.
  • Money saving tip : Avoid printing these pages. Most pages are large and contain animated images. Copies of this web site are available in the Information Room.
  • Warning! The information provided on this web site is to be used for educational purposes only. It should NOT be used as a substitute for seeking professional care for the diagnosis and treatment of any medical/psychiatric disorder. The diagnosis and treatment of depression and other psychiatric disorders requires trained medical professionals.
Supplementary information is presented against a yellow background, it is designed to enliven a topic, you will not be asked questions on it in the exam.
Points to ponder are presented against a white background. These questions are designed to help you think about the material in a way that will help you deepen your understanding of issues raised in lectures.
